'What I Like About...' Lee Min Ho

Today, on 'What I like about..' is Lee Min Ho. It was a little bit...surprising. He's not one of my favourite actors but I loved his skills in City Hunter and Boys Over Flowers. I have to say, those two roles are parallels. Personally, I watched City Hunter before Boys Over Flowers so I was surprised by him. From the cool rich guy who wants revenge but he also has a plan to get it, from the admirable hero to...Jun Pyo. Still rich, still cool but at the same time, the complete opposite of Lee Yoon Sung. However, I admire his capability to take up versatile roles.

There's a lot to say about this actor but that's just what people say and what he shows. I'm not that interested in his person but more into his acting skills. I started to watch Personal Taste and again, he makes me like his dramas more and more. He's handsome, I do realize that, but there's more to him too. I just can't put my hand on it exactly. I believe he kind of took his roles from not that complicated to very complicated. I was really enthusiastic to see him as City Hunter into the second seasons but I heard he won't act in it. Actually, I'm not sure if there will be a second season in the first place.

I also heard him sing and I was taken back. He does have some voice there but let's just encourage him on acting. His hair...hmm I like his style more into City Hunter than the others. It's too...shiny for me. Anyway, I look forward to his next projects but he's quite fit when it comes to action so I do believe it would be wise to go more into that direction. That's my opinion, at least. Anyway, overall he is an actor people should keep their eyes on.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

Yet another drama I found quite unique is Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge translated as The Wallflower. I seriously didn't know what to expect from it because I didn't know the manga/anime either so I took it as a challenge. Surprisingly, even though the plot is not that extraordinary, it takes a alternative route. It talks about the negative part of being blessed with beauty and other things that you eventually realize throughout the drama.

For those who don't know and want to check it out, it's about this good looking guy, Takano Kyohei (Kazuya Kamenashi) who suffers from being handsome. On the other side, there's Sunako (Aya Omasa) who's that type of goth girl who lives in her own dark world. They collide when Mrs Nakahara, the landlady where Kyohei lives with other three guys, sends Sunako to get beautified and turned into a lady by the boys. If they won't succeed then that's bad. However, they do make some changes into her life and she definitely changes Kyohei's. It's quite something with this drama that I can't put in words. I got slightly annoyed on some points with Sunako's character, because she's really stubborn and she has to be always persuaded by Kyohei in order to open up a bit, but in the end is all about you, as a person. Each one of us has its own personality and own unique way of living and throughout the story, Kyohei, Yukinojo, Takenaga and Ranmaru realise that Sunako is amazing exactly the way she is and she doesn't need to be transformed into a lady. I believe that's a subject that doesn't appear much into dramas or at least, isn't obvious enough.

Overall, The Wallflower is a good manga/anime/drama that shows people some aspects about beauty.

'What I Like About...' Lee Hongki and FT Island

Today on 'What I like about...' is Lee Hongki. He's the vocalist of the korean rock band FT Island. That's one of my forever favourite Asian bands. Each member has his own charm and his own little thing that makes the band a wonderful whole. Hongki has, in my point of view, one of the best voices in Asia. It's really nice to hear it and it gets you addicted. Now seriously, who didn't cry when they heard Hongki singing with such sadness. This is a true singer. His voice sounds exactly as on the record and every time I hear him sing I get goosebumps. Is not about the looks at this boy (though he does look good) but it's more about his huge talent. His voice can make you smile and be happy or it can make you cry. He sends the emotions and the message of the song really well. I always say that the vocalist is very important because, practically, he is the story teller. Also, the story has to be told in a certain way so the listeners can make an idea of what is about. I'm not a professional when it comes to Korean, I started it just three months ago, but I don't even need to understand the lyrics so I can understand the feelings and well...the song.

The first song I heard from FT Island was Distance. I got mesmerized by it. It was so soothing but at the same time, it made me cry. The first thought I had was 'Wow. I can relate to it.' The second was Hate and Resentment. That is another sad song that will never get old. The sadness in Hongki's voice, the instrumental (which never ceases to impress and inspire me) just complete each other and when there's one of the other members singing too (and they do have good voices, Jaejin always gets me.) it's just wow. This band will never get bad because that's impossible. It's a proven fact. Hongki...I sincerely admire you. What you can get out of a person's soul just with your vocals is impressive.

P.S: The new album, Grown Up, is one of my favourites. Not just Severely, but the whole.

Arche Mansion

Meanwhile, at Arche’s residence, Alex put Stella’s bed into one of the rooms. His, more exactly. He almost smiled just at the simple thought that he might sleep in the same room as her. Now that Nate had his own room, Stella could be his new roommate.

“Hello, darling!” Nate said, entering the hall. He looked worn out and couldn’t walk properly. However, he did make it to the first door, which was Alex’s room. He popped his head around the half closed door and looked around. His eyes landed on the bed he knew all too well. “What’s Stella’s bed doing here?” The younger vampire didn’t say anything, yet, Nate discovered the answer rather quick in his state. “Oh.” He raised an eyebrow trying to figure what to do next when he heard the door downstairs open. He felt instantly Stella’s mood and it wasn’t one to mess with. His eyes widened. “Oh shit.” He flashed into the bathroom and closed the door hard, locking it. Alex rolled his eyes and walked downstairs, into the living room where Stella was staring at the new surroundings.

“I remember this place…” Eric nodded. Stella’s eyes traveled slowly from the biggest object in the room to the smallest detail. It was indeed a beautiful house. It was old and rusty but the furnishings were in good condition. Stella got out of her memories when she heard the front door open and close with a big bang.

“Stella! My dear Stella!” James came to the two and smiled but it vanished in a second and back on his face was a frown. “What are you doing here?” Stella raised an eyebrow at how fast he changed his mood.

“Vampires are in town and they saw Stella.” James didn’t take his eyes from hers. “She’ll be safe here.” James nodded, still staring. “Are you alright, James?” The so called man looked to his nephew and nodded.

“I just had one hell of a date.” The three vampires turned their heads when they heard Alex slowly walking down the stairs, chuckling.

“Feisty date? Must’ve been nice to suck it out, huh?” James shook his head smiling.

“She talked too much. But thankfully, I shut her up.” Stella raised an eyebrow at James’s remark.

“You killed an innocent human?” James scoffed and went to the kitchen. In this time Alex went to the couch and plopped on it, both hands behind his head. Eric walked upstairs to put everything in place. Stella remained on the same place the whole time, her eyes going from one thing to another. James came back from the kitchen, a glass of fresh blood in his hand, a fresh smirk on his face.

“She wasn’t innocent at all. She planned the entire night, thinking she will get some action.” He pouted. “She was pretty. But…” He stopped and flashed in front of Stella, an evil smirk on his lips. “Not as pretty as you are.” Stella stood there, staring at James’ brown eyes. Alex started to chuckle behind the two. He knew Stella too well and was waiting for a smartass comeback or a punch. She did none. A smirk curved her pink lips and her eyes had a mischievous glint. It just appeared out of nowhere. It was clear that the vampire girl will have a few mood swings and also her personality will continuously change.

“James, James, James.” She started to walk around him, her eyes getting James in a trance. She was good, oh so good, and she knew it all very well. Her eyes were hypnotizing everyone and they didn’t even have to look straight into them. They were transmitting some sort of magic. “You know, you’re actually a pretty hot guy…” She flashed behind him and whispered into his year. “Too bad you don’t know how to use this as a skill.” James flinched and his eyes reddened but that changed in the second she put her hand on his shoulder. He tensed up and shut his mouth. She smirked and flashed to the couch where she plopped down next to a very amused Alex.

“Ouch.” James glared at Alex, making the younger vampire laugh. However, when Nate walked downstairs it emitted a different aura than he usually did and Stella raised her head in a second and glared at her brother.

“You’ve drank.” He smiled sheepishly but didn’t comment. He didn’t have the guts to. “You should’ve known by now that drinking won’t help the thirst.” He shrugged. Stella rolled her eyes and opened the TV. When Eric also came downstairs, Stella’s phone rang.

“Stella! I missed you! We haven’t talked in ages! How are you, girl?” Stella cringed at Tracy’s voice. With what was happening, she didn’t want to get her friends involved.

“I’m fine. I’ve been busy lately. Some…” She glanced up to see three pairs of eyes staring at her. James was nowhere in sight. “…problems. What’s new?” Tracy sighed.

“You didn’t come to rehearsals and Sami is mad. She was fuming yesterday! I thought she might even send fire on her nose!”

“What do you want from me?” Tracy scoffed.

“Don't need to be so direct. Tonight’s a party at Fey’s. I thought you might want to know. We’re all going to be there, the new student inclusive. Oh and I met this- -“ Stella’s eyes stopped trailing around the room and sat on her butt.

“What new students?” Tracy sighed.

“You haven’t been to school today and don’t know, of course. There are three new students. One is a girl, she’s about 17 years old and she’s brunette, curly hair, bright green eyes. But, meh. I’m prettier.” Stella rolled her eyes. “ The other two are boys. They’re pretty hot. One has short brown hair, skinny, blue eyes. The other is a shorter than the first. He’s pretty hot too. He has brown hair and black eyes. That’s weird. But guy number two is much calmer than the first. I think their names are…Liam and Will. You should totally come to the party!” Stella’s eyes went to Eric’s. She hung up and jumped on her feet.

“Two new students, both boys, both have brown hair, one has blue eyes the other black eyes. They arrived today. This is definitely not a coincidence.” Eric nodded.

“It’s not. They might be vampires.” Alex rolled his eyes.

“They are vampires. Can’t you feel it? One of them might as well be the one who saw Stella!” The vampire female bent her head down and sighed. She didn’t know what to do, it was dangerous. Eric saw how stressed Stella got over the news.

“Calm down. Nothing bad will happen. We’ll just have to wait and see what's in store.” Alex rolled his eyes and walked closer to the two.

“Or in other words…wait until one of them has the guts to start the war and get us killed.” Eric glared at the younger male vampire. Nate scoffed and took Stella’s hand.

“Come on. I sense a fight.” The female glanced between the two glaring vampires, feeling the intensity between them. She sighed and grabbed her hand back.

“Tonight is a party at Fey’s. We should go and relax. The two will be there too. We’ll get rid of them if it needed.” Everyone nodded and Stella left.

'What I Like About...' TOP

First to be in 'What I like about...' is *drums* TOP. We all love him, we all admire his handsome self and we all laugh when we see him dancing but is that all there is to Choi Seung Hyun? I don't know...Big Bang is a very interesting band. Let's take it from the most obvious things. When you say TOP, I personally think about his deep, husky voice which makes any woman melt. He's quite talented when it comes to rapping and he's good at beat box. He does have a good singing voice, I looked up on YouTube for proof and I did find it. I'm a musician and my ears are formed so he DOES have voice.

I watched enough videos with him to realize he's definitely not that 'super awesome perfect cool man'. Even he said that people would say he's an idiot when he acts as himself but doesn't that add to his charm? I personally admire how someone so stoic looking can have the heart of a child. It's not that good to grow up inside too. He 's grown up outside well enough, though :D. Except the part he always shows on TV I believe he's just your usual playful, rebellious, 'fuck it' guy. I don't see him as a heart breaker but he has experience with girls.

So, in the end, Choi Seung Hyun aka TOP is more than it looks and is talented...except for dancing...that's just not for him. But it's still fun when he does it. I'm sure you, TOP and Big Bang fans, know the video where they dance on 2NE1's I'm The Best. The girls are so badass and the boys are...they simply are. But anyway, I love both bands. However, when I saw TOP dancing on it...let's just say no one can have his charm while dancing...except maybe Yesung (Super Junior).

So that's the first so called idol on this post of 'What I like about...'. There are negative parts to all of those who will come next but in the end, we're all fans and have different opinions. :)

You're my Pet

And here comes my second post about a movie I really enjoyed. Asian movie. I'm a little bit sick of American ones with people dying, people killing, explosive and even more people dying. Firstly, this movie was adorable. It's very adorable. Of course, it has my favourite actor in it: Jang Keun Suk. The title is ' You're my Pet'. In one word is cute. In many words is something different and somehow silly. It seems whoever made the script really had some wicked imagination.

The plot is all about this woman, Eun Yi (Kim Ha Neul) who works as an editor for a fashion magazine. She's not really the best when it comes to relationships. On the other side, there's In Ho (Jang Keun Suk) who was a promising ballet dancer but because of an accident the woman he danced with went through, he doesn't want to dance with women any more and instead, wants to be a choreographer. It's kind of a weird motive for giving up but I've seen worse. Anyway, In Ho doesn't have a place to live and when he finds one, it's Eun Yi's. Of course there's more to it but you have to watch the movie for the details. From this to that, In Ho becomes Eun Yi's pet. Again, that's a little weird. She sees her old dog in In Ho, Momo, and that's what she calls a grown up man who becomes her pet...Momo.

This plot has a lot of good points. The actors are good and play well. You can see some positive encouragements throughout the story. Life goes on and you should never give up...entirely. And also, love can be found in the strangest places and situations...But making a grown up, very hot and adorable man into Momo is definitely...different. I also know it's after the manga 'Kimi wa Pet' by Yayaoi Ogawa. But overall, it entertains and it's a good movie.

P.S: You might be killed by Keun Suk-ssi's adorableness. I warned you.

Buzzer Beat

One quite dramatic and likeable drama is Buzzer Beat. When I started to watch it I wasn't too sure I will be able to get through it because I get annoyed easily with some stories but little by little I started to like it. I got captivated by it mostly because you don't know throughout the drama if the two principle characters will realize how much they love each other.

One good point about Buzzer Beat is that the story is about careers and love. Sometimes you have to leave pride aside and welcome the feeling of love...though personally speaking, it's very hard. Anyway, the drama is mostly about a professional basketball player, Naoki (Yamashita Tohomisa), and a violinist, Riko (Keiko Kitagawa). Throughout the story, Naoki faces some problems and tries to succeed in the world of basketball while Riko struggles in the world of music. The two meet and well...they just click, they have a lot in common and they fit perfectly.

Sincerely, I like anything with good music or even better, classical music in it. The violin Riko plays in the drama is really soothing. Of course there are other characters that complicate the plot but in the end, Naoki realises his feelings for Riko and even though he kind of annoys me because he's real SLOW. The character itself is messy and irrational sometimes...but in the end I liked it. Buzzer Beat is a good drama even if it has its own annoying parts. :)
